Javed Ali is a well-known Indian playback singer recognized for his captivating voice and soulful performances.  He has sung in various Indian languages including Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. He is widely appreciated for his songs like Jashn-e-Bahaaran from Jodhaa Akbar, Kun Faya Kun from Rockstar, Guzarish from Ghajini, and many more.

Javed Ali, originally born as Javed Hussain was born at Panchkuian Road, Delhi as Javed Ali.He went to Ramjas School 4, Paharganj. Javed Ali began singing with his father, the popular qawwali musician Ustad Hamid Hussain, at a young age. Ghulam Ali, a ghazal singer, heard Ali's voice and thought he may become a great singer in the future. Ghulam Ali not only mentored Javed but also provided him the opportunity to perform in one of his live concerts. Javed changed his name from Javed Hussain to Javed Ali in respect and honor of his master Ghulam Ali.

While Javed Ali’s Mother’s name is still unknown, his father’s name is Hamid Hussain. His father was popularly known for his qawwali music as Ustad Hamid Hussain. 

Wife

Javed Ali is married to Yasmin Ali. Revealing about his love story, he said in a show that he knew he was going to get married to Yasmin at a very young age and had never changed his head ever since. His marriage was fixed in his childhood itself. However, Yasmin’s father wanted them to get married soon, and Javed’s father wanted him to settle down properly before marriage. Despite the hardships of resolving such issues, the couple made it through and finally got married. They have been a lovely couple for years. The couple has two daughters.

Struggle

Javed Ali, the well-known playback singer, has overcome several obstacles on his way to stardom. He recalls how getting even Rs 2000 at an event was a difficult task. During his early days in Mumbai, he resided in a humble neighborhood called Chimat Pada Marol in Andheri East, where the rent and deposit amounts were a big challenge. Javed Ali learned to make ends meet on a tight budget while living in a small flat with only a tube light and a fan. He recalls the frugality of those days when he had to carefully control his money. He describes how they would make the meals last an extra day by adding extra water to the daal (pulses). The battle to pay the rent and deposit was a daily worry, and he frequently begged the landlord to let them stay in the property.

Career

Javed Ali rose to popularity in 2007 with his song Ek Din Teri Raahon Mein from the film Naqaab, and he afterward sang Jashn-e-Bahaaran from Jodhaa Akbar, Arziyan from Delhi-6, Kun Faya Kun from Rockstar, Guzarish from Ghajini, and Aa Jao Meri Tamanna from Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. He sings in Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu, among other regional languages. He has judged reality series such as Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs on Zee TV in 2011, Great Music Gurukul on Colours Bangla in 2015, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs on Zee TV in 2017, and Indian Idol Season 10 on Sony Entertainment Television in 2018. Javed Ali also presented the singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012 on Zee TV. He is presently hosting the reality show Superstar Singer 2022. He works under the labels like Sony Music India, Zee Music Company, and T-Series.

Jashn E Bahaaraa 

Javed Ali sang Jashn-e-Bahara from Jodhaa Akbar, which was composed by A. R. Rahman and written by Javed Akhtar. Jashn-E-Bahara depicts how everything appears beautiful while a person is in love, and then someone enters the individual's life and alters everything. This masterpiece received a lot of awards like the Mirchi Music Award for Song of The Year, Mirchi Music Award for Male Vocalist of The Year to Javed Ali, IIFA Award for Best Male Playback Singer to Javed Ali, etc as well as a lot of love and recognition from the audience. The song is still widely loved and used even at weddings.

Srivalli
