Sonal Chouhan was reportedly slapped at the city's airport by Sahil Zaroo, her longtime partner who was later taken into custody. Chouhan, who made her acting debut opposite Emraan Hashmi in the recently released movie Jannat, was confronted by 24-year-old Zaroo, an accused in the Rahul Mahajan drug case, last night as she was obtaining a boarding pass for a flight to Hyderabad. According to police, Chouhan was at the Jet Airways counter of the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport's terminal 1-B.
A senior officer from the Santacruz Airport police station said that during the minor altercation between the two, Zaroo publicly slapped Chouhan and also threw her mobile to the ground. Chouhan was traveling to Hyderabad to take part in a shoot. After the incident, Zaroo, who had also purchased a ticket for the same flight as her, allegedly began fleeing the area, according to police. He was quickly apprehended, though, by CISF agents stationed at the airport.
The officer claimed that when Zaroo was being taken away by the security personnel, Chouhan's father, who had arrived to see her off at the airport, got into a fight with him. Zaroo was taken into custody for violating Sections 323 (causing harm), 354 (outraging a woman's modesty), 448 (trespassing), 509 (insulting a woman's modesty), and 427 (causing damage) of the Indian Penal Code.
