BiographyFarida Jalal is an Indian actress best known for her work in Hindi films. Jalal appeared in over 200 films during his nearly fifty-year film career.

Jalal has received four Filmfare Awards and two Bengal Film Journalists Association Awards for her character-driven roles in independent cinema and supporting work in mainstream Bollywood productions.

Along with her film work she has successfully transitioned to numerous shows on Indian television. Her work includes the sitcoms Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, Dekh Bhai Dekh, Shararat, and Ammaji Ki Galli.

She was seen in Zee TV's Satrangi Sasural as Gomti Vatsal a.k.a. Dadi Maa and is best known for her role as Naani in Star Plus' Shararat.

Farida Jalal was also in the 2001 family-drama film Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham where she played the role of Daijaan (DJ).
