Introduction

Plot

 The protagonist of "Dil Se" is Amarkant Varma (Shah Rukh Khan), an All India Radio journalist who visits Assam to report on the unrest and violence taking place there. He meets Meghna (Manisha Koirala), a seductive and intriguing woman who wins his heart, on the train to Assam.

Amarkant falls in love with Meghna but soon learns that she is actually a terrorist who is plotting to strike a number of targets in Delhi to achieve their goal of national independence. Amarkant is unable to control his affections for Meghna and pursues her despite knowing who she really is. As the narrative goes on, Amarkant becomes entangled in a perilous network of

  Character Analysis

• Shah Rukh Khan plays the role of Amarkant Varma, a journalist who falls in love with Meghna while knowing that she is actually a terrorist. He is a perfect example of the idealistic, patriotic Indian who is prepared to sacrifice everything for his nation.

• Meghna (played by Manisha Koirala): Meghna is a mysterious and enigmatic woman who captures Amarkant's heart. She is a member of a group of terrorists who are fighting for the independence of their homeland. Meghna represents the complex and conflicting emotions of those who have taken up arms against the state.

• Amarkant encounters Preeti Nair, a lively and animated girl, while travelling. Preeti is portrayed by Preity Zinta. She contrasts the gloomy and perilous reality of terrorism with the purity and idealism of young India.

• The CBI Chief, played by Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, is a stern bureaucrat whose job it is to put an end to terrorist activities. He is prepared to employ any means required to stop the terrorists and speaks for the creation of law and order.

• Omprakash, who is portrayed by Raghuveer Yadav, is a beggar who makes friends with Amarkant while he travels. He stands in for India's forgotten and marginalised population and acts as a sobering reminder of the human cost of terrorism and violence.

• The song "Chaiyya Chaiyya" required Shah Rukh Khan to film a scene on top of a moving train. The scene was shot over four days, and the crew had to take safety measures to ensure the safety of the actors and the crew.

• The song "Jiya Jale" was shot in the backwaters of Kerala, and the crew had to face a lot of challenges due to the harsh weather conditions and the presence of mosquitoes.
