Indian actor Darshan Gandas also known by his stage name Darshan Kumar is well known for his work in Hindi movies. Alongside Priyanka Chopra he made his acting debut in the 2014 movie Mary Kom. He gained notoriety as a young student from a Kashmiri Pandit household in the 2022 movie The Kashmir Files in which he starred.
He had a connection to Sahej Theatrical Group as a theater performer before making his acting debut. On the way back from the auditions Darshan's shoes broke down and he had to walk barefoot for several kilometers. I was walking back around 9 or 10 at night when the lower half of my sneakers snapped he claimed. I was unable to walk without a limp. I couldn't locate a cobbler in the area. I walked for five to seven kilometers while holding my sneakers in my hands.
The actor continued by saying that he frequently had to go to bed without eating since he lacked the funds to eat out. He remarked that although Mary Kom brought him a lot of love he still had to fight for good work and to avoid stereotypes.
