Introduction

In the Indian Premier League, Punjab Kings is a professional cricket team. (IPL). The franchise is based in Mohali, Punjab, and represents the state in the popular T20 league. The team was originally known as Kings XI Punjab but was rebranded as Punjab Kings ahead of the 2021 season. The Mohit Burman, Ness Wadia, Preity Zinta, and Karan Paul consortium owns the team. Over the years, the team has featured a number of well-known players, including Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Chris Gayle, and KL Rahul. Punjab Kings have made it to the IPL playoffs twice, in 2008 and 2014, but are yet to win the coveted title.

When the IPL was established in 2008, the club was one of the initial eight franchises. The Punjab Kings are a cricket team owned by a group that includes Mohit Burman, Ness Wadia, Preity Zinta, and Karan Paul. Home Ground

A cricket field called the Inderjit Singh Bindra Stadium is situated in Mohali, Punjab. The Mohali Stadium is the common name for it. The Punjab squad plays at the Geetanshu Kalra-built stadium.  

Logo and Theme

A lion's face appears in the Punjab Kings logo, which stands for power, bravery, and authority. The main colours of the team's uniform, red and gold, are used to depict the lion. The lion's mane is designed to mimic a crown, representing the team's desire to win championships.

Shikhar Dhawan

Indian Cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has played for his country in all forms of the game. He is an opening batsman who bowls with his left hand and is well known for his aggressive stroke play. He has consistently performed well in the Indian Premier League. (IPL).

Dhawan has participated in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for a number of different teams over the years, including Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), Mumbai Indians, Deccan Chargers (now defunct), Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, and most recently Punjab Kings. 

Sam Curran

English Cricketer Sam Curran is renowned for his all-around skills. He is a left-handed batsman and a left-arm medium-fast bowler who has contributed significantly to the Indian Premier League sides he has played for. (IPL). 

For Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), Curran made his IPL debut in 2019. He had an instant effect, scoring three goals against Delhi Capitals in just his second game. In nine matches that season, he went on to make 95 runs and take 10 wickets. He maintained his excellent form throughout the 2020 IPL season, contributing 186 runs and 13 wickets in 14 games for the Chennai Super Kings.

Rahul Chahar

Indian Cricketer Rahul Chahar competes in the Indian Premier League as a right-arm leg spinner. (IPL). He will be Playing for Punjab Kings in the IPL 2023 and has established himself as one of the league's most potential young spinners.

2018 saw Chahar make his IPL debut, and he got off to a strong start by getting two wickets in his first game. He was instrumental in helping Mumbai Indians capture the IPL 2019 title by taking 13 wickets in 13 games at an average of 23.69. He amassed 15 wickets in 15 matches during the 2020 IPL season and contributed significantly to Mumbai Indians' successful championship defense.

Controversy

IPL expulsion followed by a comeback

The Indian Premier League stated on October 10, 2010, that it had terminated the franchise contracts of Kings XI Punjab and the Rajasthan Royals in response to the controversy surrounding the BCCI and Lalit Modi in 2010. To stay in the Indian Premier League, the clubs said they would file lawsuits. The team initially attempted to work out a compromise with the league, but when they were unable to do so, they made the decision to file a lawsuit in Mumbai High Court, claiming that the IPL intentionally got rid of the two teams in order to award the 2012 IPL season's contract to a more lucrative bidder.The High Court was involved in the reinstatement of Kings XI Punjab.

Ravicandran and Rajasthan Royals

While backing up at the non-striker's end during the 2019 IPL season, Punjab Kings captain Ravichandran Ashwin ran out Rajasthan Royals batsman Jos Buttler, which is strictly legal but divisive in the cricketing community. The incident prompted a contentious discussion about the rules of the game and resulted in Ashwin's actions being criticized. There have been rumors of conflict between Punjab Kings head coach Anil Kumble and skipper KL Rahul during the 2020 IPL season. The team's administration, however, denies
