Shruti Seth is a popular Indian actress and video jockey who started her career as a television show host. She later gained broader recognition through her comedic roles in various television shows and Hindi films. She transitioned into a modelling career and began hosting television shows for Channel V. A major turning point in her career occurred when she was cast as Jiya Malhotra, a teenager, in Star Plus's comedy series Shararat (2003–06). As the show's popularity increased, Seth earned love and recognition for her notable performance.

Career

Shruti Seth established herself prominently in the entertainment industry during her tenure as a video jockey and television presenter with Channel V, where she hosted notable shows like First Day First Show and Junglee Jukebox. Her role on these shows significantly boosted her visibility and laid a strong foundation for her career.

Subsequently, Seth secured the lead role in the popular Star Plus sitcom "Shararat,"  which revolves around a teenager with magical powers, alongside co-stars Farida Jalal and Eva Grover. Her portrayal was well-received, contributing to the show’s three-year successful run. Seth continued to expand her television career with series such as "Kyun Hota Hai Pyarrr,"  "Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand,"  and "Rishta.com" on Sony Entertainment Television, and also hosted several seasons of "Comedy Circus."

Transitioning to the big screen, she is perhaps most recognised for her portrayal of Fatima "Fatty" in the film "Fanaa" (2006), alongside Aamir Khan and Kajol, and has appeared in Yash Raj Films’ "Ta Ra Rum Pum" and Prakash Jha's "Raajneeti" in 2010.
