Along with Diana Penty and Nushratt Bharuccha, Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi play the key roles in the movie. Driving Licence, a 2019 Malayalam movie, was remade for this project.

Selfiee is a remake of the 2019 Malayalam film, Driving Licence in which a Bollywood star Vijay Kumar tries to get a new driver's license from RTO employee and passionate fan Om Prakash Agarwal wants to meet him. A disagreement escalates into a quarrel that is publicly displayed to the entire nation.

Release

Selfiee is scheduled to be theatrically released in India on 24 February 2023.

Reviews

All things considered, Selfiee might be faithful to the original, but that's also one of its weaknesses. The movie shines when it doesn't "attempt" to duplicate, thus it was necessary to give it a cosmetic makeover both inside and out.

The cinematography is done by Rajeev Ravi, edited by Ritesh Soni. the music of the movie is composed by Anu Malik, Tanishk Bagchi, Yo Yo Honey, Singh, The PropheC, Lijo George-DJ Chetas, Vikram Montrose, Aditya Yadav, Tarun. The movie's opening day take of 2.55 crore rupees (US$320,000) made it Akshay Kumar's least successful start.  The movie has made a total of $17.14 crore (US$2.1 million) worldwide as of February 27, 2023, after earning 13.57 crore (US$1.7 million) in India and 1.49 crore (US$190,000) internationally.

Behind the Scenes

Dharma Productions released a motion poster in January 2022 to promote the movie and introduce Kumar and Hashmi. In Mumbai, principal photography began in March 2022 and continued through December 2022.  Seems the cast and the crew had a lot of fun shooting the film.
