Shaan Biography

Shantanu Mukherjee is an Indian playback singer composer live performer actor and television personality. He has recorded songs for films and albums in a variety of Indian languages and he has established himself as one of the highest-paid and most well-known playback singers in Indian cinema.

Shaan is one of the few Indian singers to work with international artists. Shaan worked with Michael Learns to Rock on his album Tishnagi after working with blue on the song One Love and singing the theme song (Shuruaat) for the film The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Shaan also composed six of the album's nine tracks and wrote the majority of the songs with the exception being Take Me To Your Heart alongside Michael Learns to Rock. This song's video has also become popular.

Shaan and Radhika met at Razzberry Rhinoceros where a song called Akbar Mera Naam was dedicated to Radhika and she mistakenly thought it was Shaan who did this. Throughout the night she assumed he was Akbar and later discovered his true identity.

Shaan and Radhika realized they were meant to be together as time passed. As the saying goes opposites attract and this is exactly what happened with this couple. Shaan who was quite shy gathered the guts to propose to his love in the most beautiful way possible which blew Radhika off her feet. He proposed to me in the most romantic way Radhika said. We were on the beach when he got down on his knees and said With the sea sky and air as witnesses I ask you to marry me! It seemed like a nightmare.

Radhika definitely said yes but Shaan's major mission now was to persuade her parents. There was a significant age gap and Shaan was an artist which did not sit well with Radhika's parents. Shaan and Radhika were both nervous and insecure at first but he eventually won them over.

Radhika and Shaan set an example for every couple after 22 years of a successful marriage two children and successful careers. Their love for each other is genuine and pure.

Shaan’s Career

Shaan began his career singing commercial jingles. After a small break he returned and proceeded to sing remixes and cover versions alongside jingles. He authored the lyrics to the ballad Bhool Ja for his album Tanha Dil in 1999 which charted within days of its release and was popular on the radio. He had a smash hit with Tanha Dil Tanha Safar in 2000. This song was also featured on his sister's 2001 album Mere Liye.

Shaan has provided the voice for several of Bollywood's major performers in addition to singing on his own albums. When he was seventeen he made his debut as a playback singer in the film Parinda singing a one-line song called Kitni Hai Pyari Pyari with his younger sister. The film was a blockbuster and he established himself as one of Bollywood's prominent playback singers.
