Akash’s cricketing journey began on the dusty fields of Uttarakhand, where he sharpened his skills bowling yorkers with tennis balls. His exceptional control and technique didn't go unnoticed.
With the Uttarakhand Cricket Association affiliating with the BCCI in 2018, opportunities opened up for Akash. He was 24 when he entered the competitive cricket scene, catching the eye of former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer and Manish Jha, who advised him to switch to the red ball.
Domestic Career
Madhwal made his domestic debut in the 2019-20 season across all formats. His first notable appearance came in the Twenty20 format for Uttarakhand in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on November 8, 2019. He then made his first-class debut in the Ranji Trophy on December 25, 2019, and his List A debut in the Vijay Hazare Trophy season 2020–21 on February 21, 2021.
His performance on the domestic circuit was impressive, leading to his appointment as the captain of the Uttarakhand T20 team ahead of the 2023 domestic season. This significant achievement highlights his leadership skills and his importance to the team.
