K3G (Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham) is a 2001 Indian Hindi-language family drama film written and directed by Karan Johar and produced by Yash Johar. Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan, and Kareena Kapoor appear in the movie. In this film, Rani Mukerji makes a cameo appearance. Jatin–Lalit, Sandesh Shandilya, and Aadesh Shrivastava composed the film's songs. The film depicts the difficulties and misconceptions that an Indian family suffers as a result of their adopted son's marriage to a girl from a lower socioeconomic category.
Yashvardhan "Yash" Raichand, played by Amitabh Bachchan, is a billionaire businessman. His wife Nandini (Jaya Bachchan), his two boys Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) and Rohan (Hrithik Roshan), and his mother Lajwanti live in Delhi. Their family is patriarchal and adheres to rigid traditions. Yash and Nandini adopted Rahul when he was a baby. Except for Rohan, everyone in the house is aware of this.
After completing his studies in London, Rahul returns home and falls in love with the vivacious Anjali from Chandni Chowk. Rahul soon discovers that she loves him back. His father, however, would never approve of the relationship because she comes from a low-income family. During this time, Rohan, who is still a youngster, is sent to boarding school, as is customary in his family. Yash wants Rahul to marry Naina (Rani Mukerji), who is his equally affluent childhood friend and also in love with him.
Yash is upset by Anjali's status after learning of her. Rahul promises that he will not marry her. However, he discovers that Anjali's father, Om, and her younger sister, Pooja, had died, leaving them alone. Despite Yash's disdain, he marries her on the spur of the moment. Yash disowns Rahul when he brings her home, reminding him of his adopted status. As a result of this, Rahul bids his family a sorrowful farewell and leaves home with Anjali. Rohan never learns the real reason Rahul left home. What follows is a rollercoaster ride filled with emotions, drama, pompous production and dance numbers which makes it a perfect family drama for the weekend!
