"Manjhi the Mountain Man" chronicles the incredible journey of Dashrath Manjhi, an Indian man who carved a path through a mountain in rural Bihar because of his love and tenacity.Dashrath, a meagre labourer who lives in the far-off village of Gehlaur, is introduced in the first chapter. Falguni Devi, his wife, suffers a serious injury when she stumbles from a cliff while attempting to bring him lunch. Unable to receive timely medical assistance due to the mountain's impassable nature, she tragically succumbs to her injuries. After losing his beloved wife, Dashrath is devastated and vows to prevent anyone else from experiencing the same fate. 

He decides to take on the Herculean task of breaking through the mountain to create a road that connects his village to the nearby town, Wazirganj.Despite facing skepticism from his fellow villagers and being mocked by them, Dashrath remains resolute. Armed with a hammer and chisel, he begins chipping away at the rocky mountain day after day, year after year. Dashrath faces many obstacles over the course of 22 years, including poverty, harsh weather, and physical exhaustion, but he never loses hope.
