Biography

Arjit Taneja, born November 10, 1992, is an Indian television actor and model well known for his roles in numerous reality series and TV shows. Taneja was up in a Punjabi family and attended Modern School in Delhi before graduating with a BA in computer programming from the University of Delhi. He began his modelling career in 2010 when he joined Elite Model Management India Pvt. Ltd.

Taneja went to Mumbai in 2012 to pursue acting and made his television debut in Channel V, India's V The Serial, which was produced by Ekta Kapoor. In 2013, he earned additional exposure by appearing on MTV India's reality show MTV Splitsvilla 6 and Sony TV's Box Cricket League. He made his acting debut in Ekta Kapoor's Bade Achhe Lagte Hain in 2008.

Taneja's career took a big turn in 2014 when he went on to play Purab Khanna in Zed TV's popular daily soap Kumkum Bhagya. He received the Zed Gold Awards for Best Supporting Actor for his work, however he quit the programme in 2016. Concurrently, he played Bilal Khan in another Ekta Kapoor film, Sony TV's Pyaar Ko Ho Jaane Do, in 2015.

Taneja relocated to Indonesia for a few months in 2017, where he co-starred in the Indonesian show Nadin ANTV with his old Kumkum Bhagya co-star Mrunal Thakur and Indonesian actress Dewi Persik. 

Arjit was then cast as the lead male actor in Colours TV's Bahu Begum, a love triangle-themed show that premiered in July 2019. Along with co-stars Samiksha Jaiswal and Diana Khan, he played Azaan Akhtar Mirza, the Nawab of Bhopal. The series concluded in January 2020.

Taneja appeared as Farishta, an angel, in the supernatural vengeance thriller Naagin 5, and revisited the character in Kuch Toh Hai: Naagin Ek Naye Rang Mein in 2021. He then earned the major part of Shambhu Thakur in Dangal TV's Nath - Zewar Ya Zanjeer in August 2021.

Arjit Taneja, an Indian television actor and model, was born in Delhi to a Punjabi family. He finished his education at Modern School, a prominent Delhi institution. Taneja continued his schooling at the University of Delhi, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Computer Programming.

Taneja began his modelling career after finishing his education, joining Elite Model Management India Pvt. Ltd. in 2010. Later, he relocated to Mumbai to pursue acting, making his television debut in V The Serial and later featured in a variety of TV dramas and reality shows.

Career

Arjit Taneja's acting career took off when he was cast as Purab Khanna in the popular Zed TV soap Kumkum Bhagya, for which he won the Zed Gold Award for Best Supporting Actor. He went on to star in a number of TV shows and reality shows, including Colours TV Box Cricket League, Sony TV Pyaar Ko Ho Jaane Do, and Zing Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya.

Taneja travelled to Indonesia in 2017 to play the lead in the show Nadin ANTV, before returning to India and landing the lead in Zed TV Kaleerein. He also appeared on chat shows and hosted the 2019 Zed Rishtey Awards. He appeared as the lead male actor in Colours TV's Bahu Begum in 2019, which finished in 2020.

Taneja continued to appear in television shows like as Naagin 5, Kuch Toh Hai: Naagin Ek Naye Rang Mein, and Nath - Zewar Ya Zanjeer. In March 2022, he competed in Hunarbaaz: Desh Ki Shaan Parineeti Ka Swayamvar, where he earned the title of Mr. India after impressing Parineeti Chopra.

Taneja returned to Naagin 6 in 2022 as Farishta and afterwards joined the StarPlus show Banni Chow Home Delivery. After quitting the show, he worked on the web series Butterflies Season 4 EP 5 Upgrade with Sanaya Irani.

Taneja's journey began with Splitsvilla 6, and he returns to non-fiction reality shows with Khatron Ke Khiladi 13 after a decade away. The show premiered on Colours TV on July 15, 2023. Joining Arjit on this action-packed journey are several other talented celebrities like Anjali Anand, Anjum Fakih, Nyra Banerjee, Daisy Shah, and Aishwarya Sharma.

As Purab in Kumkum Bhagya 

Purab Khanna plays an important role in the popular Indian television show Kumkum Bhagya, which debuted in 2014.
