The show follows these eight individuals as they go on a journey that changes them, but they can't use any of their normal digital platforms for 21 days. Instead, they have to show their true talents and personalities. Putting aside their online personas, they must go through a number of tough mental and physical challenges that are meant to test their creativity, ability to adapt, and ability to connect with people on a deeper level.

Each contestant brings a different set of skills and knowledge to the game, representing different social media platforms and niches. The diverse group includes fashion and beauty influencers, travel vloggers, exercise gurus, and comedians. This shows how wide the influencer culture is.

Social Currency’s release date is 22 June 2023. Social currency is available on Netflix to watch.

Controversy

One of the eight participants on the show Social Currency is the singer Sakshi Chopra, who is also the great-granddaughter of Ramanand Sagar. On the following evening, she shared a lengthy message on Instagram in which she made accusations of sexual and mental harassment on the part of the creators. She stated that the makers of the show chased her for a year to sign a contract. That's why she signed a contract, also because one call a day was promised by the makers but they did not follow it. They mislead them into believing that the game was only about fun tasks like singing, dancing and content creation with no gossip or drama. Sometimes they didn’t even give them food, not even behind the cameras and also asked them to perform tasks which were not comfortable for the contestants.  

The Ultimate Influencer Showdown not only shows off the skills of the contestants, but it also tells us a lot about the world of influencer marketing and how social media affects it. The show talks about the responsibilities and ethical issues that come with having a big following, and it asks the contestants to think about their goals and impact in the digital world.
