In order to participate, individuals must first download the JioCinema app and then upload a video of themselves singing or rapping. The size of the video should not exceed 50 MB. In case you are chosen, you will be required to perform an audition in front of the MTV Hustle team and judges.

Auditions

In the first season of the show, there were a total of 40 contestants chosen from the online registrations on Voot, but only 15 rappers were given the opportunity to fight against one another. The judges evaluated each rapper on the basis of their writing, the flow of their rhyming, and their overall performance.

The second season of Voot utilised online auditions to choose the top 16 contestants. Badshah made the decision as to which contestants would be placed in each squad, and now the four Squad Bosses will be responsible for training the participants and judging them based on their talent, performance, technique, melody, and narrative.

In the video, a rapper can be seen delivering rhymes over a rhythm that was created by his friend's stuttering. It is not a powerful moment for the friend, as his discomfort over the whole thing is brushed off as comical by the other person. This instantaneously generated controversy on the internet, with a number of fans publicly shaming MTV for their disrespect and insensitivity.

After 14 hours, MTV Hustle finally removed the post from all of the social media platforms.
