Arunita Kanjilal is an Indian vocalist who grew up in Kolkata, West Bengal. Her ultimate objective is to break into the Bollywood film industry as a playback singer. Arunita participated in Zee Bangla's television show Saregamapa Little Champs 2013 which captivated everyone with her singing and she won the singing competition. Her songs were praised in this national programme by Maha Guru and Alka Yagnik.
Arunita Kanjilal was among the top Five contenders on the programme she was under the mentorship of famous Singer Monali Thakur & also won the title of Manch Ka Guroor. She was heavily influenced by Bollywood singers Hariharan and Shreya Ghoshal and she aspired to train under them.

Arunita appeared on Zee Bangla's television show Saregamapa Little Champs 2013 for the first time impressing everyone with her singing and becoming the show's champion. She was the first runner-up of Indian Idol season 12 and all of her songs are well-known and anticipated.
This did not deter Arunita from participating in the singing reality show Saregamapa Little Champs which debuted on Zee TV in 2014 and her performance of the song Ae Mere Watan Ke Logo originally performed by Lata Mangeshkar Ji received a standing ovation and was highly regarded by the hosts and listeners of the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs. According to ETimes Octopus Entertainment Pvt Ltd has written a letter to the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association informing them that Indian Idol 12 contestants Pawandeep Rajan and Arunita Kanjilal have violated their agreement and broken their trust by not shooting and promoting their music albums. Both singers had been signed by the company's members for a romantic album of 20 tracks.
