Kanhiya Mittal performed Kirtan without accepting payment until 2017, after his father warned him not to do so. 

Kanhiya Mittal's song "Hara Hu Baba Par Tujpe Bharosa Hai" was so well-received that it completely changed his life. Following the huge success of his song, he began working in this direction and later composed many more devotional songs (bhajans).Kanhiya Mittal Ji is now one of India's most popular and young devotional singers. He won the "Divya Samman" award for devotional singing in 2020.

He has sung many devotional songs, like Jo Ram Ko Laye Hain, Chaska Shyam, Ki Yaari Ka, Bhagwan Lehrayenge, Saware Teri, Zarurat Hai, and many more. He also has a YouTube channel, Krishan Kanhiya Mittal, with over 2.35 million subscribers.
