The Modi family has been spotted on its way to Surat, where they will pay a visit to Kokila Modi's long-lost brother Praful Desai and his family. Gehna is a house helper at the Desai household. Gopi discovers that her first husband Ahem, who died five years ago, is still alive after Gehna saves him. The Modis hunt down and reunite with Ahem before returning to Rajkot.

Gehna eventually marries Desai's' youngest son Anant, the role played by Harsh Nagar, Gehna becomes their daughter-in-law of Desai House. Kanak, a powerful performance given by Akanksha Juneja, who is Anant's sister-in-law, is envious of Desai's love for Gehna and intends to destroy and extort the family.

The plot initially focused on Gehna and Anant's ability to stay together and overcome Kanak's challenges in order to keep the Desai family intact. It also revealed how Anant encourages Gehna to obtain a law degree by supporting her and helping her grow into a strong independent lady. The Desai, however, misunderstand Gehna due to a lack of trust, and she quits the Desai house to maintain her self-respect. Anant is killed in a terrible accident.

After Six Months, Gehna has been renamed Kamya. She's on a mission to bring Anant's killers to justice in the eyes of the law. Surya Seth, a well-known photographer, comes across her. Later on, they marry, and the plot revolves around Gehna's efforts to protect Surya from his evil and greedy stepmother, Suhani Seth.
