The first IIFA Awards ceremony took place in London's Millennium Dome in 2000. From that point forward, the awards ceremonies were staged all over the world, demonstrating Bollywood's success on a global scale.
Bollywood holds an annual awards show called the IIFAs, or International Indian Film Academy Awards. Fans vote online for their favorite Hindi film industry actors to determine the winners of the awards, which are produced by Wizcraft International Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. Since its inception in 2000, the ceremony has annually taken place in a variety of nations.
The South Indian portion of the annual IIFA Awards is known as the IIFA Utsavam. Around the time of the 2015 film releases, the awards were established in 2016. On January 24 and 25, 2016, the first IIFA Utsavam took place at Hyderabad, India's Gachibowli Athletic Stadium. Amitabh Bachchan has served as the IIFA's brand ambassador since the event's debut. In its tenth year (2009), five new special awards were added: Director of the Decade, Music of the Decade, Movie of the Decade, and Star of the Decade (Male and Female).

The gala night of the event in February will be hosted by Bollywood actors Farhan Akhtar and Abhishek Bachchan, as well as actor Maniesh Paul, who previously co-hosted the event with actors Salman Khan and Riteish Deshmukh.
Khan, an IIFA ambassador, will also be back. Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, and director and producer Karan Johar are among the other celebrities who have so far confirmed their attendance. Akhtar, who has presided over previous IIFA Awards, expressed excitement about participating in Abu Dhabi the next year.
IIFA 2023 will be organized in cooperation with Miral, one of Abu Dhabi's top designers of immersive locations and experiences, and the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi).
After a successful IIFA edition at Yas Island, Noreen Khan, vice president of IIFA, stated that they were happy to bring the new annual gala with much more magic the following year.
In 2000, the inaugural awards were presented at The Millennium Dome in London, England.
The show's brand ambassador since the beginning has been Amitabh Bachchan.
It was originally a one-day event when it started in 2000, but it has since been extended to a three-day event.
