Introduction

An Indian romantic drama television series called Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 aired on Sony Entertainment Television on August 30, 2021. The show is available online on Sony LIV. The show is a spiritual sequel or reboot version of the 2011 series of the same name, produced by Ekta Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms. Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 initially starred Nakuul Mehta and Disha Parmar. It has featured Niti Taylor, Randeep Rai, Pooja Banerjee, and Leenesh Mattoo since February 2023.

Story

Priya Sood lives with her mother, three sisters, Sara, Maitri, and Sandy, as well as her cousin Akshay. Mahendra, her father, moved in with his second wife and child after he abandoned them. Ram Kapoor is a well-known business tycoon who was dumped by Vedika and now devotes all of his time to his career and family, including his stepmother Nandini and half-siblings Shubham and Shivina.

Shivina is having an affair with Akshay, but Akshay refuses to marry before Priya, so Ram marries her, much to Nandini's displeasure. Vedika tells Priya about their previous relationship in an effort to win Ram back. But Ram and Priya are on the same side. Ram decides to reopen the murder inquiry on his father. Varun, Sara's husband, and Mahendra are both in jail on murder charges. Shivina is killed when Eshan inadvertently knocks her down the staircase. Priya accepts the blame and is sentenced to prison. She learns she is pregnant with Ram's child, but Nandini tricks her into hiding the baby.

Five years leap- Priya serves her sentence and is blessed with a daughter, Pihu. Ram and Pihu both learn about their father-daughter relationships. Ram eventually discovers the truth about Shivina's death and is reunited with Pihu and Priya. Vedika, Shubham, and Nandini are eventually exposed in front of Ram. Priya conceives for the second time. With Ram's assistance, Shubham and Sid successfully negotiate a contract with Yash Khanna, inadvertently putting him in contact with his still-alive mother, Swati, and brother Lakhan. Avni, the daughter of Yash Khanna, is in love with Lakhan and desires a union with Sid. They are at odds when it is revealed that Ram and Lakhan are brothers.

Shubham and Siddharth intend to murder Priya in an effort to kill Ram. At Sood House, Nandini, Priya, and Ram square off in the last conflict. The Sood House is shortly destroyed by fire as Ram and Priya discover the truth about Swati's departure. When Nandini sees Ram and Priya still trying to save her, she realizes her error and attempts to save them but dies. In their final moments, Ram and Priya hug one other as Priya delivers Prachi.

Twenty years leap- Ram and Priya are dead, and Avni is forced to marry Sid. Pihu, now grown, has a turbulent relationship with her uncle Lakhan, who has taken over Ram's business. On the other side, Prachi regards him as a father figure. Pihu finds Raghav, Lakhan's secretary, attractive, but Raghav has feelings for Prachi.

 

Release Date

On August 12, 2021, Ekta Kapoor, the show's producer, unveiled and released the first promo for the series, which starred Nakuul Mehta and Disha Parmar as Ram and Priya. At the Indian Idol 12 season finale, the show's stars, Disha Parmar and Nakuul Mehta, revealed the first look poster for the series' upcoming season. On August 19, 2021, the premiere date of the program was officially confirmed.

 

Reviews

Mid-Letty Day's Mariam Abraham commented, "Mehta and Parmar put their best foot forward as they carry the show on their shoulders." She added that the series is "relatable without indulging in melodrama ... it may well surpass its original." 

According to Gursimran Kaur of Times Of India, "Nakuul Mehta steps into the shoes of Ram Kapoor beautifully. He does justice to his part. Disha Parmar takes the cake with her simplicity and genuinity."

Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 is an Indian Hindi Langauge television drama which was directed by Shahir Raza, Deepak Vithoba Chavan, and Abhishek Kumar R Pal. Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor produced the show. The show was produced under the production company Balaji Telefilms.

R.D. Burman worked on the theme music of the show and Lalit Sen and Nawab Arzoo worked on the show's soundtrack. Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 was written by Deepika Bajpai.

 

Character Analysis

Ram Kapoor- Ram is a wealthy and prosperous businessman who values his relationships with his family and is a kid at heart. He enjoys delicious food and the rain. Ram is a soft-hearted person who always looks after his friends and family and tries to make people around him happy.

Priya Sood- Priya, on the other hand, is the complete opposite of Ram. She is a teacher who despises both love and the rain. She believes the thrill associated with both is useful as a marketing gimmick. Her classmates refer to her as a frustrated 32-year-old bachelor because of her ideologies.

Prachi Kapoor- Prachi is Pihu's younger sister, Raghav's friend, and the younger child of Ram and Priya. ( as of 2023)

Raghav- He is Lakhan's secretary and Prachi's friend. Raghav has one sided feelings for Prachi.

Pihu Kapoor- Pihu is Ram and Priya's elder daughter and Prachi's elder sister. Pooja's best friend is Angad.

Angad Shekhawat- Angad Pihu’s best friend. He is Brinda and Aditya’s adoptive son.

 

Behind The Scenes

It was announced in May 2021 that the Ekta Kapoor program Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, which was first televised from 2011 to 2014, will return with a new cast and a new plot. For the role of Ram Kapoor, the male lead, Nakuul Mehta was chosen. 

Disha Parmar was subsequently chosen by the producers when Divyanka Tripathi, who was first offered the role of Priya Sood's female protagonist, declined the offer. Mehta and Parmar earlier co-starred in Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara, making this their second project together.

 

 

Soundtrack

The soundtrack for Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 was composed by Lalit Sen and Nawab Arzoo. Shreya Ghoshal and Trijayh Dey are the singers of the theme song, which was composed by R. D. Burman.
