As far as the plot goes, and according to the animated trailer, The India House takes place in London during the years leading up to India's independence in the year 1905. The trailer gives the impression that a love tale unfolds around The India House while huge political upheaval is taking place. The burning of the India House was also depicted in the promo.

India House was a student home in Highgate, North London, that existed from 1905 until 1910. It was backed by the lawyer Shyamji Krishna Varma, who wanted to encourage students from India to have more nationalist beliefs. It was a hotbed for revolutionary Indian nationalism and offered scholarships to students who wanted to further their education in England. Patrons were responsible for publishing the obscene publication known as The Indian Sociologist. Savarkar, Cama, Chatterjee, Dayal, Aiyar, Acharya, and Bapat were all prominent revolutionaries who were affiliated with India House at one point or another. Wyllie was killed by a member of the group named Dhingra, which resulted in inquiries and a downfall. As a result of the police crackdown, members fled to France, Germany, and the United States. During the course of World War I, the network was involved in the Hindu-German Conspiracy in some capacity. Former residents of India House had an impact on communism and Hindu nationalism in India.

The movie is expected to follow the traces of real life events as mentioned above.

The announcement was made on the occasion of the 140th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Vir Sarvakar, i.e., that is on 28th May 2023. The premiere of the film is scheduled for the 12th of August 2023.
