Controversy 

Maratha Mahasangh said that the name Aaicha was wrong. They said it was wrong and would hurt children. Later, Manjrekar agreed to make a certain statement before the movie started, and the fight was over.

Remake 

Prakash Raj remade this movie in Tamil & Telugu As Dhoni. People thought Mahesh Manjarekar wanted to make a Hindi version of this movie with Bollywood star Salman Khan in the lead role. After getting hurt while playing in the CCL, Salman Khan gave the part to Sonu Sood.
