Singham is a 2011 action-crime movie in Hindi that was made by Reliance Entertainment and directed by Rohit Shetty. The movie, which is an adaptation of the 2010 Tamil film Singam by Hari, stars Ajay Devgn as police inspector Bajirao Singham, as well as Kajal Aggarwal and Prakash Raj in the key roles. Additionally playing supporting parts are Sachin Khedekar, Sonali Kulkarni, Govind Namdev, and Ashok Saraf.

Shivgad, a small town close to the Goa–Maharashtra border, is where the action next shifts. The Shivgad police headquarters is run by Bajirao Singham, another upright policeman like Kadam. As the station house superintendent of his town, he usually finds informal solutions to issues there without pressing formal charges, earning him a great deal of respect and love from the locals. Industry tycoon Gautam "Gotya" Bhosle was boyhood pals with Manikrao "Manya" Singham, the father of Bajirao. Along with his wife and kids Kavya and Anjali, he travels to Shivgad.

Singham and Kavya eventually have a romantic relationship. She initially dislikes him after he smacked her hard when she is caught terrifying villagers while dressing as a ghost, but she changes her mind when she discovers his sincere and straightforward nature and learns that he wants to apologise for his behaviour. Their courtship is conducted through a series of comedic events.

Until Jaikant, who is granted conditional bail for a homicide he committed, is compelled to come to Shivgad to sign the bond, everything seems to be going according to plan. In contrast, he sends Vitthal Dalvi and his men, acting on the advice of his top subordinate Shiva Naik. This infuriates Singham, who demands that Jaikant sign the bail document in person in the next four hours. After hearing Jaikant's words about Singham, the villagers threaten to kill him and wreck the vehicles in his convoy in a dramatic display of their collective might. Jaikant arrives in Shivgad angry and ready to confront Singham.

As a humiliated Jaikant watches in awe of Singham's bravery and leaves the village on foot as a protest, refusing to travel by wheels, Singham orders his assistant Ramesh Kelkar to bring the register containing Jaikant's record, forcibly imprints Jaikant's left thumb onto the register, and cautions him to continue signing the bail for the remaining 14 days. He stops at a spot on the route, remembers his humiliation, learns Singham's history from Shiva through a source, and uses his political connections to arrange for Singham to be transferred to Goa so he can exact revenge.

Unaware of Jaikant's involvement in his transfer, Singham accepts the position of in-charge at the Colva police station in Goa. However, on the first day, Jaikant confronts him, revealing his true colours and attempting to intimidate him by referencing how the cop who came before him committed suicide and threatening to cause Singham endless trouble. Sub-Inspector Dev Phadnis, Sub-Inspector Abbas Malik, and Head Constable Prabhu Sawalkar are his coworkers and subordinates. He eventually learns from them how much they despise Jaikant for his misdeeds but are powerless to do anything about it due to Jaikant's political influence.

As soon as he declines to back him up against Jaikant and then nominates the latter as a contender for his local political party, local minister Narvekar only makes matters worse for Singham. When Singham first considers going home because he feels defeated and mentally tormented by Jaikant to no end, Kavya stops him and tells him to battle the evil rather than go like a coward. At that point, a few of Jaikant's goons attack him. Realizing it would be pointless to go back to Shivgad, he beats the thugs mercilessly before imprisoning them.

After setting Shiva up to destroy the FIR against the goons, whom he had come to liberate, and reminding the cops that Shiva, on Jaikant's orders, had hidden bundles of cash in Kadam's jeep, Singham then arrests Shiva in a false case of unlawfully smuggling alcohol. Later, when Patkar tries to save Shiva but is restrained by his obligations to Jaikant, he thwarts him in full view of the people. On Kavya's birthday, Jaikant abducts her younger sister Anjali and holds her for ransom. After saving her, Singham locates Jaikant as the kidnapping ring's mastermind. Furious, he confronts Narvekar with his team, but he escapes arrest because he won the election and would soon be a minister in the Goa government.

After Jaikant's party comes into power, he gives Singham the go-ahead to return to Shivgad within a day. At a gathering of police officers and their families that evening, Singham confronts the officers, in particular Pawar and Patkar, for failing to uphold their obligations and for being deceitful and disloyal to their line of work by shielding Jaikant. After first criticising Singham, Patkar, Phadnis, Abbas, and Sawalkar decide to aid Singham in his fight against Jaikant out of remorse. He soon has the support of Pawar and the whole Goa Police Force, and they all storm Jaikant's house with the intention of killing him. In an unexpected turn, Patkar reveals that he is actually supporting Singham.

Jaikant eventually makes his way out, but after sprinting through the city, the police catch him the following morning. After the confrontation, they threaten Shiva to retract his confession and take him to the police precinct where they shoot him to death on Kadam's chair. Pawar and Singham exonerate the late Kadam of all corruption-related accusations at a press conference while demonstrating the guilt of Jaikant and Narvekar. Singham as well as the other policemen salute Megha as the movie comes to a close.

Singham was a critical and commercial hit, with it amassing a whopping INR 157 crores at the box office. The movie was praised for its action sequences, dialogue delivery from the main cast and power-packed performance by Ajay Devgn and Prakash Raj.
