Saubhagyalakshmi is a Hindi TV series about Dadi Maa who takes care of her grandchildren Kuhu, Kavya, and Muskaan following the passing of her daughters. In contrast to others, she is unable to develop a strong bond with Kavya.

Kuhu, Kavya, and Muskaan reside with their "Dadi Maa," or grandmother. Due to her loathing for Kavya's mother Divya, who had pretended to be Bhoomi and whose previous husband Yuvraj had killed the entire Prajapati family, Dadi Maa has always kept Kavya at a distance from her. It is evident that the family is struggling to make ends meet after falling into hard times.

After a boy has an automobile accident one day, Kavya flags down a passing vehicle and asks for assistance. The owner, wealthy businessman Samarth Ranawat, however, reprimands her and accuses her of being one of those low-income individuals who attempt to con wealthy automobile owners out of money.
