Porus is a historical tv series that depicts the lives of Indian warrior and the king of the Paurava Kingdom Porus and Alexander the Great, King of Macedonia, during the Battle of the Hydaspes. Laksh Lalwani, Rohit Purohit, Rati Pandey, Sameksha, Riya Deepsi, Suhani Dhanki, and Aditya Redji are among the actors who appear in it. Siddharth Kumar Tewary of Swastik Productions was the show's creator. It has the highest budget in Indian television, with a roughly INR 500 crores budget.
The Pauravas and Takshashila, two opposing Indian kingdoms, resolve to put an end to their hostility by a political union between Bamni, the king of the Paurava Kingdom, and Anusuya, the younger sister of Ambhiraj, the king of Takshashila. Anusuya hopes for a united India, in contrast to her brother Ambhiraj, who is primarily concerned with his empire. The truce between both the kingdoms is broken by a Persian trader named Darius, Ambhiraj, and Shiv Dutt, the elder brother and prime minister of Bamni. As a result, the pregnant Anusuya is forced to depart. She gives birth to Porus during her flight.
Anusuya and Porus are dropped into the River Jhelum by Shiv Dutt in an effort to murder them. Ripudaman, the Paurava Kingdom's Commander-in-Chief, rescued Porus and raises him in the pirate-run Dasyu Kingdom. Darius, who would later rule as the ruler of Persia, tricked Bamni into becoming a trade partner in order to progressively syphon off India's wealth, heavily influencing the Paurava Kingdom. Bamni weds Kadika, the sister of Shiv Dutt's right-hand man and Paurava general, upon Shiv Dutt's recommendation.
Kanishk, Samar Singh's son, was born. Years later, following a chain of incidents that resulted in Ripudaman's demise, Porus is reconnected with his family and ultimately chases Darius out of India. Bamni is deposed, and Kanishk is crowned king by Shiv Dutt, who despises Takshashila and does not wish for the half-Takshashilan Porus to succeed him. However, Porus quickly retakes the Paurava kingdom, killing Shiv Dutt and imprisoning Kanishk in the process. Bamni freely abdicates the kingdom because he believes Porus is more deserving than he is, and Porus ascends to the throne of the Paurava Kingdom.
Alexander invades India, makes Ambhiraj his vassal, and eventually captures Takshashila. Kanishk breaks free from prison and joins Alexander, but he subsequently turns against Alexander and joins the Pauravas, where he is slain. When Alexander fights the Pauravas, a lengthy war ensues. The war results in significant casualties on both sides, with Porus losing his parents despite having killed Ambhiraj. In the end, Alexander triumphs at the Battle of the Hydaspes in 326 BCE and captives Porus. However, Porus's bravery moves Alexander to give him back his kingdom.
Malayketu is the son of Porus. Alexander passes away at Babylon in 323 BCE under unknown circumstances while en route to Macedonia. The following year, Ambhikumar, the furious son of Ambhiraj, and Seleucus, Alexander's former general, kill Porus and Laachi in a coordinated attack; Malayketu survives. Porus, who is about to pass away, gives his prime minister and counsellor, the Brahmin scholar Chanakya, responsibility for India's destiny.
