Paurashpur is a fictional historical era original web series produced in India in the Hindi language that was broadcast on ALTBalaji and ZEE5. The online series is produced by Sachin Mohite and directed by Sachindra Vats for the studio Jaasvand Entertainment. The film's lead actors are Annu Kapoor, Milind Soman, Flora Saini, Shilpa Shinde, Poulomi Das, and Shaheer Sheikh.

The story is set in the 16th-century fictional place called the kingdom of Paurashpur, which is ruled by King Bhadra Pratap Singh, where women are viewed as mere objects to gratify sexual urges in men. Women have no rights in society; women are viewed as "Slaves" to men, have to perform the "Sati" rite upon the death of their husbands, and are required to wear the "Chastity Belt" with a clasp on their intimate parts. And anyone who challenges these laws are publicly put to death. Meeravati, the first wife of the king, makes sure that his "carnal" cravings are satisfied and gives him young queens to fulfil him, but they mysteriously vanish from the palace. There is a connection between the queen's kidnappings and Boris, the transgender man who frequently causes the King discomfort. Will there ever be a chance for women to experience gender equality in this incredibly patriarchal society? This programme aims to provide an answer.
