Miss Earth is a major international beauty contest that promotes social responsibility, environmental awareness, and conservation. In terms of the total number of national events that send contestants to the international finals, it is the third-largest beauty pageant in the world.

One of the Big Four global beauty pageants, along with Miss World, Miss Universe, and Miss International. The current Miss Earth Air is Marisa Butler, Miss Earth Water is Romina Denecken, and Miss Earth Fire is Jareerat Petsom.

Nicole Faria from India was crowned Miss Earth in the year 2010, while Apurva Patil was crowned Miss Earth India in the year 2019.

Since its beginning, the pageant has primarily taken place in the Philippines, usually in October or November, however, it has also taken place in Vietnam and Austria.

Reigning titleholders devote their year to promoting particular projects, frequently addressing environmental issues and other global problems through speaking engagements, shopping mall tours, media appearances, environmental fairs, storytelling programs for kids, eco-fashion shows, and other environmentally conscious activities.

The Miss Earth winner serves as the face of the Miss Earth Foundation, the UN Environment Programme, and other environmental groups.
