The story revolves around Ajinkiya Shinde (Ajya), an orphan, who lives in the small village of Satara with with his uncle and  is a great follower of Marathi king Shivaji Maharaj. Ajinkya has decided to serve in the Indian Army and is preparing himself for the same also is ready to sacrifice his life for the country. Ajinkiya meets Sheetal and both start in a bitter note but slowly fall in love with each other but Sheetal's family wants her to marry Harshwardhan Yuvraj Deshmukh (Bhaiyaasaheb) who runs an illegal arms business. Sheetal isn't interested in getting married to Bhaiyaasaheb who creates hurdles in their marriage but Ajinkiya and Sheetal get married while Ajinkiya also decides to gets Bhaiyaasaheb arrested for his crimes.

The serial's plot helped the series become popular early on. In BARC, the show had the highest TRP. After August 2018, the show's ratings and popularity declined. However, near the end of the performance, it overcame Mazhya Navryachi Bayko to take the top spot once more.
