The 2009 Bollywood comedy film Daddy Cool was directed by K. Murali Mohana Rao and shot by T. Surendra Reddy. In addition to many other actors, the movie stars Sunil Shetty, Jaaved Jaaferi, Aashish Chaudhary, Sophie Choudry, Aftab Shivdasani, Prem Chopra, and Aarti Chabria. The story is focused on the bizarre events that take place during one funeral all in one day. It is an imitation of the unauthorised 2007 British comedy Death at a Funeral. It was released on 28 August 2009 and has an IMDb rating of 3.8 out of 10.

The movie is set in Goa and chronicles one insane day there. The main characters of the novel are Steven and his wife Nancy, who are now residing with Steven's mother and shortly intend to buy their own apartment. Steven's father's passing occurs at the start of the movie. The mourners start to show up as Steven plans the entire funeral by himself. Brian, a well-known Mumbai-based novelist, is Steven's brother and also shows up. Since he is a novelist, Brian is expected to give the goodbye speech, but he has nothing prepared and intends for Steven to deliver it.

Someone constantly interrupts Steven as he prepares to begin, causing the speech to be delayed. Steven is approached by a short man named Andrew, who requests a private conversation. He learns from Andrew that he was Steven's father's homosexual lover. Steven tells Brian this, astonished. In order to keep this a secret, Andrew threatens them and demands money. At this point, Steven's bizarre family shows up. This movie follows one crazy and entertaining day at a funeral and how things quickly turn from orderly to chaotic.
