Introduction

Kumar Mahajan, fed up with his misfortune, consults an astrologer to learn what the future holds. When the astrologer declines to predict Kumar's destiny, a series of events occur that could ultimately be bad for Kumar. Samantar, which is based on the same-titled book by Suhas Shirwalkar, presents the events in Kumar's life in a dramatic manner. The nine episodes of this season's online series, all of which were directed by Satish Rajwade, are filled with plenty of suspense and thrills.

Plot 

PlayYou've had a horrible day, as we all have on sometimes. An average individual might first overlook it, but when a string of negative incidents repeatedly occurs for more than a week or a month, we tend to attribute them to fate or bad luck. Then the tale of "why is this happening to me?" questions and the ensuing desire to find out one's future begins. Swwapnil Joshi's character, Kumar Mahajan, goes through this exact scenario in Samantar. While the atheist believes that the Swami will provide him the answers to his problems, the Swami flat-out refuses to disclose Kumar his bhavishya. Distraught, Kumar asks Swami the explanation for this denial. Swami replies that he had read the identical hand 33 years prior and adds that just as he had not revealed the future to that individual, he will not reveal it to Kumar.

However, Kumar learns Sudarshan Chakrapani's name from Swami. What exactly is Chakrapani? What parallels are there between his life and Chakrapani's? Will he have the responses to Kumar's queries? Kumar starts looking for answers, but every tip he receives mysteriously vanishes. Meanwhile, he continues to pick up hints and realises that he is taking the same path Chakrapani walked 33 years before.

Reviews

Swwapnil's performance is nearly completely responsible for the show's success, and he does not disappoint. This is a Swwapnil Joshi that you have most surely never seen before, to use a cliché. In contrast to the romantic roles he is typically cast in, he exhibits grey areas, falters, and is both open and unrepentant at the same time. Tejaswini Pandit, who plays Nima, the wife of Kumar, excels in a supporting role, as does Nitish Bharadwaj, who once more receives a hatke part. Although they give honest performances, Jayant Savarkar and Ganesh Revdekar don't actually contribute anything to the event.

Both viewers and critics have applauded Samantar for its intriguing acting, compelling storyline, and superb production value. The programme has elevated the status of Marathi language content in the Indian OTT market and has grown to be one of MX Player's most popular Marathi web series.

Samantar is an Indian Hindi Langauge television drama which was directed by Satish Rajwade. Arjun Singgh Baran and Kartik D Nishandar produced the show. The web series is based on the book written by Suhas Shirwalkar of the same name. 

Character Analysis

Kumar- An ordinary middle-class man, Kumar is dissatisfied with his lot in life. Nothing is going as he would like. His close friend Sharad brings him to a Swamiji to receive future predictions.

Nima Mahajan- Nima is Kumar's wife. She is a typical aggressive housewife who is calm and composed by also is a confident woman. Despite being a calm being, her over-enthusiasm shows.

Behind The Scenes

All nine of this season's episodes were directed by Satish Rajwade, who gives them plenty of suspense and thrills. Satish is skilled at building suspense because he has worked on films like Gaiir and Asambhav in the past. His talent is entirely on display in Samantar as well. Additionally, Satish goes all out due to the freedom of content on OTT platforms.

The show's stunning cinematography and excellent performances have received widespread praise for its engaging storyline and production quality.
