A day before Kusum's exam, Charu surprises her and asks her to the party. She goes to Ronobir to express her displeasure with her performance, but then something happens instead, and they end up helping Ratan execute a successful surgery. After a long day at college, Ronobir lets Kusum off at her house before returning to his house to meet with his and Sujata's relatives.

All is Fair in Love and War

The prom season is in full swing, and Ronobir wants Kusum to join him, but she declines to be his date. Sujata shows up at Ronobir's college with the intention of inviting his fellow classmates to the surprise birthday celebration she has been organising. Ronobir and Sujata both make an announcement at the party.

It Happened at the Prom

As Sujata departs for England, Ronobir drops her off at the airport. Ronobir never asked Kusum out to prom, but she keeps having dreams about him doing so. Upon seeing Ronobir with Charulata when Kusum and Ratan arrive at the prom, Kusum becomes furious. In a jealous rage, she admits to having feelings for Ronobir. When at the movies, Kusum runs across an old friend.

When Kusum joyfully announces her pregnancy to Ronobir, Ronobir is not pleased. Instead, he persuades her to get the abortion, which she performs with Ratan's assistance. She was upset, however, as Ronobir failed to appear throughout the procedure. She thus intends to go see him.

Nine years have passed. Kusum has progressed in her life and is currently employed as an army medic. She gladly approves to Ratan's proposal. Kusum is reintroduced to Dr. Ronobir Chatterjee as a cholera specialist who will aid her in fighting the illness.

Still in Love with You

Kusum and Ronobir are having a disagreement. Actress Monalisa returns to the hospital. To honour the hospital's achievement in combating cholera, Ronobir throws a party.

Take My Breath Away

Ronobir drops Kusum off at her home before going home to his daughter. Ratan informs Kusum of the invitation to the college reunion and lets her know he won't be going. At the celebration, Kusum runs into some of her old pals and learns some fresh details about Ronobir.

What Hurts the Most

When Kusum unexpectedly arrives at Ratan's home to speak with him, she learns about his secret. Ronobir and his group will now need to care for the wounded soldiers as well because India and Pakistan are at war. Ronobir must go home, nonetheless, due to an urgent situation. When Kusum visits Ronobir's home, she learns a disturbing fact.

And, I Will Always Love You

To avoid being around Ronobir, Kusum offers to work at the border. Ronobir is informed by Mr. Dasgupta of Kusum and the other medical professionals at the border camp's impending doom. Ronobir decides to join Ratan as he organises a group of Naxalites to assist him in rescuing Kusum. Kusum is successfully saved but at a high price.
