Before becoming a well-known Punjabi musician Aulakh competed in pro-Kabaddi as Money Palawan and was an overweight wrestler. 

A knee injury forced him to quit wrestling. In 2013 Mankirt began his singing career with the song Darshan Karke which he co-wrote with DJ Sanj but it was not well received by the crowd.

The Gallon Mithiyaan song earned him the title of Best New Age Vocalist at the 2016 PTC Punjabi Music Awards and Mirchi Music Awards. In addition he has performed a number of well-known Punjabi songs including Gangland Aggi Teri Maa Jugaadi Jatt Jatt Da Blood Harley 7 Lakh Da Charda Siyaal Chorey Wali Baah and others. Kadar Badnam Daang Khyal and others Mankirt have worked with famous models including Kamli Himanshi Khurana Sonia Mann Tanvi Nagi Parmish Verma Sim Khurme JAzZ Mangat Sabrina Bajwa and Ropi Gill.

Mankirt used to compete in singing events at yearly and youth festivals. In 2013 he started a singing career and released his first song Darshan Karke. Mai Teri Tu Mera

The 2016 Indian Punjabi film Main Teri Tu Mera is directed by Kshitij Chaudhary written by Pali Bhupinder Singh and stars Roshan Prince Yamini Malhotra Mankirt Aulakh Jazz Sodhi and Karamjit Anmol. The movie debuted on August 19 2016. The majority of the film was shot in the border regions of the hamlet of Ferozepur which is close to Pakistan. Chandigarh also served as the location for a few sequences. In Main Teri Tu Mera Malhotra Aulakh and Sodhi made their feature film debuts in Punjabi.

The protagonist of the tale is a daydreamer from the country named Amru. He begins to have dreams about Jazz Sodhi who then unexpectedly emerges in reality and informs him that they are already married.

Controversy

Mankirt Aulakh a Punjabi musician who gained notoriety after his name was mentioned in connection with the murder of Sidhu Moosewala has now had a legal case brought against him. His song 8 Rafalan was charged in the Chandigarh district court with employing slurs against attorneys. Attorney Sunil Mallan raised this issue. Mankirt Aulakh received a legal notification on May 15 2021 according to attorney Mallan. 

There wasn't a sufficient reaction to this. The removal of this music from social media has been demanded. This instruction should be issued with the help of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Additionally all payments must go toward the Advocate Welfare Fund.

This album was published a year ago. In a prior case Advocate Mallan claimed that the late Punjabi musician Sidhu Moosewala had defamed attorneys in his song Sanju. In that situation the case against other people is still pending even after Moosewala's passing.
