 It is produced by Cinestaan Film Company and Mehra under his ROM Pictures. The film's core premise is based on Mirza Sahiban's Punjabi folklore. Mirzya was launched on October 7 2016 in India. The picture got mediocre reviews and was a box office flop collecting only $13.5 million against a budget of $45 million. During its first week the film grossed 96 million (US$1.2 million) and did poorly at the box office.

Bhavesh Joshi Superhero

Bhavesh Joshi Superhero is a 2018 Indian Hindi-language vigilante action film directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and co-written by Motwane Anurag Kashyap and Abhay Koranne under the Phantom Films label. Harshvardhan Kapoor plays the lead alongside Priyanshu Painyuli Ashish Verma and Nishikant Kamat in supporting parts. 

The story centres around a successful vigilante gang that goes away over time but reappears when one of its members finds water theft by a local politician and his accomplices. 

This was Nishikant Kamat's final film before his death on August 17 2020. Bhavesh Joshi Superhero was released in theatres on June 1 2018. It was later shown in the Neuchatel Film Festival. Despite receiving great reviews the film was a box-office flop grossing only 4.35 crore on a budget of 21 crore.
It has developed a cult following. The film's producers first chose Imran Khan to play the lead. Due to continuous delays in the film's pre-production schedule Sidharth Malhotra was eventually replaced with Harshvardhan Kapoor.

Thar

Thar is a 2022 Hindi-language action thriller film written and directed by Raj Singh Chaudhary and produced by Anil Kapoor and Harshvardhan Kapoor. Thar set in the 1980s follows a city man who moves to a remote town for some exploration work but there is more to him than meets the eye. It was released on Netflix on May 6 2022 to mixed positive reviews from critics who complimented the direction cinematography acting dialogues background score and homages to the Western genre however some faulted the story screenplay and editing.

Trolled For Sad Reality

Many people were irritated by a statement Harshvardhan made in a recent interview with Mashable India. Lamenting how he has to pay for his 'own sh*t' the 31-year-old actor said “I hate to break it to the audience but the reality is that my parents have no interest in paying for my sh*t. So I wish you all were right and I was wrong.”He continued saying I would have had ten times more than what I have but I buy my own stuff. It’s the sad reality of my life. Otherwise you don’t think I would have had five cars as opposed to just one. 

The Mirzya star also candidly admitted his desire to own a Lamborghini but will have to settle with a pre-owned luxury car as that will cost him around Rs 1 crore. He said for newer models he would have to shell out around Rs 3 crore. I'm actually a Lamborghini guy. I love that car but the new one is just too much. So I'd have to settle for a used old Lamborghini Spyder.

All hell broke loose as a result of his remarks. Social media users ridiculed Harshvardhan for his wealth. Others teased that they wished they had his financial issues.

Diljit Dosanjh Controversy

Harshvardhan Kapoor made his acting debut in the film Mirzya this year. While the film itself did not perform well the soundtrack and performances of its two debutants Harshvardhan and Saiyami Kher were praised. Harshvardhan was named Best Debut (Male) at both the Stardust and Screen Awards. And we're guessing the actor expected to strike gold at Filmfare as well. 

The missed win which went to actor Diljit Dosanjh for Udta Punjab appears to have irritated Harshvardhan. The actor not only issues with the fact that he did not receive the award but he also believes Diljit did not deserve it given that he has previously appeared in Punjabi films. He faced backlash on Twitter following this comment to which he responded appropriately.
