Cricket player Abhijeet Tomar on January 8, 2018, made his Twenty20 debut for Rajasthan in the Zonal T20 League for the 2017–18 season. On October 1, 2018, he made his List A debut for Rajasthan in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Tomar recorded his first century in List A cricket on December 8, 2021, on the first day of the 2021–22 Vijay Hazare Trophy, with 104 not out. He was purchased by the Kolkata Knight Riders in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League competition in February 2022.

After much effort Tomar eventually made his stage debut in the 2018–19 season. However due to injuries with Covid-19 stopping domestic cricket in Rajasthan and the nation life had other plans and he could not play for an extended period. Tomar continued his pursuit of a law degree throughout the hiatus simultaneously.
He didn't give up on cricket and continued to improve his tactics and abilities with the help of his mentor Rajasthan Royals fielding coach Dishant Yagnik. The possibility of a comeback remained.
He then scored an unbeaten 104 against a Punjab bowling attack that included Siddharth Kaul Arshdeep Singh Harpreet Brar and Mayank Markande in the Vijay Hazare Trophy from the previous season. He continued scoring 92 runs against the opposition.
He continued and hit 58 runs against Services after smashing 92 runs against Goa to conclude the match as Rajasthan's best run-scorer.
He experienced a setback when he was forced to miss India's important domestic T20 tournament the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. His contribution was deemed insufficient to be a T20 player by his state squad.
Three teams the Mumbai Indians the Rajasthan Royals and the Kolkata Knight Riders invited Tomar for trials. In a practise T20 game for the Royals he recorded an unbeaten 70. Following that KKR requested that he play a range of roles. The day of the auction arrived and the Knight Riders paid Rs 40 Lakhs to select the brash batter.
Tomar was quite convinced that one of the two teams would select him during the auction and in fact the Knight Riders acquired his services for INR 40 Lakhs following a brief bidding battle between KKR and RR. Because if KKR had not purchased him at the auction the phrase "Everything is written" would not have been accurate.
Currently Abhijeet Tomar is focusing on his career and hasn’t been a part of any controversies.
