The story follows Kedar Patel (Jackky Bhagnani), the son of a businessman, who has his third US visa denied. His excellent friend and ex-navy professional Shammi (Arshad Warsi) advises a cruise to the United States rather than flying. However, an accident forces them to visit Karachi. When they discover they are in Karachi, they both botch the whole process in their attempt to return to India. They have been misidentified as border intruders. Lauren plays an investigation officer who believes these two persons (Shammi and Kedar) pose a threat to their country. Kedar is a moron, and Shammi is a braggart, which puts them in perilous positions.

Welcome 2 Karachi received an IMDB rating of 4.2 out of 10. Critics gave the film mostly poor reviews. On its first day in India, Welcome to Karachi grossed $1.5 million. The comedic drama picture grossed approximately Rs. 5.50 crore net (55 million) in its first weekend at the box office, including paid previews. This was hardly surprising given the film's low opening day performance.
