Tanu Weds Manu is a Hindi romantic comedy-drama movie released in the year 2011. Himanshu Sharma wrote the movie's script, Krsna Solo oversaw the music, and the lyrics were given by Rajshekhar.

Tanu Weds Manu was released in the year 2011 on the 25th of February. Tanu Weds Manu is also available on OTT platforms like Amazon Prime Video and  ZEE5. The movie is as long as 119 minutes or 1 hour and 59 minutes.

Aanand L. Rai is the director of the project and Shailesh R. Singh produced the 2011 Hindi-language romantic comedy-drama Tanu Weds Manu. The movie was produced under the banner of Paramhans Creations, Sanjay Singh Films and Soundarya Productions. The main cast of Tanu Weds Manu includes Kangana Ranaut, R Madhavan,  Jimmy Sheirgill, Eijaz Khan, Swara Bhaskar, Deepak Tokas, and Deepak Dobriyal. Kangana Ranaut plays the role of Tanu while Madhavan plays the role of Manu. They are the central characters of this movie. 

Konkona Sen Sharma was going to play the role of Tanu but after the movie’s production was halted, it was announced that Kangana Ranaut would be playing the role of Tanu. 

The movie was a financial hit when it came out, especially in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab. The movie collected an estimated 56 crore rupees against a budget of 17 crore rupees. 

The plot revolves around the journey of Manu tying the knot with Tanu and all the drama that carries. Following his return to Delhi from London, Dr. Manoj Sharma meets Tanuja Trivedi, his future wife, in Chaman Ganj, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He travels there with his parents, Kishan and Anju, as well as a number of other people. He tells his elders that he approves of her, and they start making plans for the wedding. He receives a nasty awakening when Tanuja reveals that she already has a lover and intends to wed him despite the opposition of her parents. Manoj informs his parents, who then begin looking for Tanuja for him in vain while he gets ready to leave for home single. While attending the wedding of Jaspreet Singh Jassi and Payal Sinha in Kapurthala, Punjab, Manoj and Tanuja are fated to cross paths once more.

Tanu weds Manu won the R.D. Burman Award for New Music which was awarded to Krsna Solo. Swara Bhaskar also received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the 57th Filmfare Awards. 

Tanu weds Manu was remade in Telugu which was titled Mr Pellikoduku. It was released in the year 2013. A sequel of Tanu Weds Manu titled ‘Tanu Weds Manu: Returns’ was released in the year 2015 on 22nd May 2015.
