A Hindi television series called Sujata - Ek Stree Ka Samarpan ran on Sony TV from 14 April 2008 to 11 December 2008. Piel de Otono (Autumn Love), a Televisa-produced Mexican telenovela authored by Liliana Abud, served as the inspiration for the plot. It brings forth the feelings of a married woman living in the city and her interactions with her husband and kids. It stars Indrani Haldar, Aman Verma, Sheeba Akashdeep, Ravee Gupta, Kiran Bhargava , and Divya Jagdale in important roles.

The story is based on the life of Sujata, a married woman who wed her spouse Viresh in a love marriage. She is blessed with two children as well, but at the age of 40, she begins to feel that her family has taken advantage of her and wants to carve out a life for herself.

Sujata, the main protagonist, is the first person in the story to be highlighted. For Sujata, caring for her family comes first in her priorities. So she assumes responsibility for her home and family, giving up her own goals and objectives as well as her youth for the sake of the family members without expecting anything in return.

She has neglected her own identity and needs because she is a total housewife, like the majority of women, but as time goes on, she experiences her midlife crisis. Sujata feels alone despite being so close to her family members because the same family members she was caring for more than herself are now preoccupied with their daily routines and don't have time for her. She is now confronted with the reality that her children are adults, have their own priorities, and have little to no time for her.

Her marriage to her husband, who is establishing himself in business, has evolved into more of a routine. Her well guarded and cared-for nest is now empty. Despite being the foundation of her family, she finds herself alone herself. Why is she alone right now, when she most needs her family? Why is there no one when she has given the family everything?
