The first episode of the series shows how the city of dreams goes about its regular business while being completely unaware of the threat of a terrorist assault. While aspiring journalist Parvati's channel INN struggles with ratings, Col. Sahota and his NSG troops are shown fighting for the organization's urgent upgrade. While this is happening, one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in American history is just getting started.

The sequel to State of Siege: 26/11 is titled State of Siege: Temple Attack (2021). Akshaye Khanna is the star, while Ken Ghosh is the director. It is based on the Gujarat attack on the Akshardham Temple in 2002.
