Sanjay Gupta directed the 2013 Indian Hindi-language crime film titled Shootout at Wadala. It serves as a precursor to the movie Shootout at Lokhandwala from 2007. It is loosely based on Hussain Zaidi's book Dongri to Dubai: Six Decades of the Mumbai Mafia. Anil Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, Tusshar Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee, Siddhanth Kapoor, and Sonu Sood are among the actors who play lead parts in the movie alongside John Abraham. The encounter between the Bombay police and the gangster Manya Surve is dramatised in the movie. On January 11, 1982, it happened at the intersection next to Dr Ambedkar College in Wadala, Bombay.
Afaaque Baagwan is listening to a mobster, Manya Surve, who is severely wounded and has a bullet-riddled body, tell his narrative while inside a police van.
Manya Surve is a respectable student at Dadar's Kirti College. He takes Vidya Joshi to his mother to talk about their impending nuptials because they are in love.
Manya has a mawali elder brother named Bhargav Surve. Bhargav is at odds with Bhatkar, a don in the criminal underworld, and is presently on the run. Soon enough, Bhatkar's thugs attack and beat up Bhargav. Manya intervenes to protect him. While Manya Surve is holding one of the thugs, Bhargav stabs him, killing him instantly.
Before Manya can find out his test results, his brother and he are both detained on the day of the results. Inspector Ambolkar humiliates Manya in front of his peers at the college, and Manya ends up in Yerwada Central Jail. A fellow prisoner named Munir intervenes to prevent Manya from being assaulted by Potya during lunchtime. Bhargav is killed in the assault. Manya and Veera, another prisoner, become close friends with Munir. Manya receives strength training from Veera. After practising, Potya eventually tests Manya. He is attacked from behind by Potya, who then beats Manya up before Manya kills Potya with a knife.
Later, while working on a railroad track, Manya and Munir both manage to break out of prison. They then attempt to join forces with two powerful brothers in Mumbai. Manya impresses the first brother, Zubair Imtiaz Haksar, who is cool. The second brother, Dilawar, on the other hand, opposes and disapproves of Manya. Following this, Manya creates his own gang, consisting of Munir, Veera, and Gyancho, a sharpshooter that Munir brought with him. Manya eventually dispatches Bhatkar. They are joined by Bhatkar's bodyguard Jamal. Then, Manya severely beats Ambolkar in front of everyone to bring him to his knees.
The next scene in the narrative has Mastan killing Sadiq, a dishonest news reporter. The struggle between Mastan and the Haskar brothers ended as a result. Haji Maqsood declares a truce as a result of this. The respite is brief as Maqsood requests that Manya Surve finish Zubair. After killing Zubair, Dilawar uses Jamal's assistance to assassinate Gyancho. When Manya intervenes to save him, he is about to murder Munir. Later, Dilawar asks Afaaque to murder Manya. He initially refuses, but eventually caves in when the police commissioner commands him to. After the shootout and Manya's police killing, the story comes to a close.
