Samar Khan's 2008 courtroom drama Shaurya, starring Kay Kay Menon, Rahul Bose, Javed Jaffrey, Deepak Dobriyal, and Minissha Lamba, was directed by Khan. The 1992 courtroom drama A Few Good Men serves as a loose inspiration for the movie, which also is loosely based on the Hindi drama Court Martial by Swadesh Deepak.

The movie depicts a fictional plot that centres on the court-martial of an Indian Army officer named Javed Khan for killing his superior officer in the setting of the insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir. The events leading up to the violent murder are progressively made known during the court-martial.

The film received criticism for its very simplistic depiction of anti-Indian army propaganda and security issues. However, the majority of reviewers commended the principal actors' performances, particularly those of Rahul Bose and Kay Kay Menon, and appreciated the film's admirable goals. The movie merely had moderate box office performance.
