Sarabhai vs Sarabhai is a two-season Indian sitcom that aired on STAR One from November 1, 2004 to April 16, 2006, then on Hotstar from May 15, 2017 to July 17, 2017. Deven Bhojani directed the production. The drama, which stars Satish Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Sumeet Raghavan, Rupali Ganguly, and Rajesh Kumar, is set in the posh Cuffe Parade neighbourhood of South Mumbai and focuses around a quintessential upper-class family. Hats Off Productions was in charge of the show's production. At the time of its initial release, it was considered to be ahead of its generation in terms of premise, writing, and average audience ratings.
Maya (Ratna Pathak Shah) and Indravadhan Sarabhai (Satish Shah), along with their three children, make up the Sarabhai family.
The eldest, Sahil (Sumeet Raghavan), lives in the apartment directly across from them with his middle-class wife Monisha (Rupali Ganguly). In comparison to the other characters, Sahil is a cosmetologist who is quite composed. Maya, a snobby and arrogant socialite, is irritated by Monisha's middle-class manners. She frequently taunts her with "light-hearted comments" and tries, but unsuccessfully, to change her behaviours.
Sonya (Aishwarya Sakhuja), Maya and Indravadhan's second child, is a psychic who is married to Dushyant (Deven Bhojani), a technician who annoys the family by explaining everything about machinery. "I'll explain," is his catchphrase.
Rosesh, the youngest child, is a poet and actress whose poetry provide regular comedy for the show. Indravadan enjoys torturing Rosesh and mocking his poetry as well as him for being his "Momma's" puppet. He lives with his parents and is unmarried.
The show has been widely regarded as one of the best sitcoms India has ever produced and its cult-like following is a testament to its popularity. It is still watched by millions across the world and continues to create an impact in popular culture.
Vaibhavi Upadhyaya, the actress from Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, was killed in a car accident. JD Majethia, the producer, broke the bad news. He revealed the location of the collision in a post on Instagram Story.
"Life is a roller coaster. Vaibhavi Upadhyay, popularly known as 'Jasmine' from Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, a very fine actress, died. She was involved in an accident in the north. Her family will transport her to Mumbai tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. for last rites. "RIP Vaibhavi (sic)," writes JD Majethia in his post.
