David Dhawan and Sohail Khan's romantic comedy Partner was released in the year 2007. Parag Sanghvi and K Sera Sera Private Limited produced the movie. Based on the 2005 American film Hitch, Prem Kulkarni, portrayed by Salman Khan, advises his client Bhaskar Divakar Chaudhary, played by Govinda, on how to win Priya Jaisingh, played by Katrina Kaif, who is his gorgeous boss. He ends up falling in love with Naina Sahani, a widowed mother, who is portrayed by Lara Dutta, and hides his identity as a result.

In supporting parts, Ali Haji, Ali Asgar, Jason Shah, and Dalip Tahil play, respectively, Naina's kid, her colleague, Priya's fiancé, and Priya's father. The movie, which debuted on July 20, 2007, garnered accolades for its humorous parts and Govinda's hilarious performance.

The plot revolves around Prem, a "Love Guru" who helps his clients with their love problems. Bhaskar Diwakar Chaudhary, who is seeking Prem's assistance in his love life, is someone he meets. Priya Jaisingh is the daughter of a successful businessman named Raj Jaisingh, Bhaskar loves her but is hesitant to tell her how much. At first, Prem declines to assist Bhaskar and departs for Phuket, Thailand. He is persuaded to assist by Bhaskar, who follows him there. What follows is a series of hilarious back and forth between the central characters and how they manage to win the love of their life despite all the challenges faced by them from various sources. 

Partner was a critically hit film in the box office, earning a gross total of around Rs.1.03 Billion. It was loved by audiences from all age groups for its comic timing and a whacky storyline. It was the fifth-highest grossing movie of 2007, behind Om Shanti Om, Chak De! India and Taare Zameen Par.
