An Indian drama television series called Pehredaar Piya Ki was shown on Sony TV. It began on July 17 and ended on August 28, 2017. Due to the portrayal of child marriage, the show abruptly returned after being cancelled. Along with Parmeet Sethi, Kishori Shahane, Manisha Saxena, and Gireesh Sahedev playing recurrent parts, it featured Tejaswi Prakash and Affan Khan in the key roles.

The story revolves around a young lady named Diya who, in order to grant a dying man's dream, marries Ratan Maan Singh, an orphan kid, fulfilling his dying wish. The couple then develops a lovely connection and begins to support one another on a platonic basis. Until Ratan is old enough to take over, she then serves as the interim proprietor of the Maan Singh Heritage Group of Hotels.

Producer was forced to halt the programme and recast the concept as a new series, Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya, as producer faced anger from the public over the underage marriage of 18-year-old Diya to 9-year-old Ratan. In place of Affan Khan, who portrayed a younger Ratan, Rohit Suchanti played an adult Ratan.
