Vidya Chauhan, an idealistic Delhi schoolteacher played by Raveena Tandon, has a strained personal life. Though she adores her daughter, her relationship with her husband is far from harmonious. She and her daughter are gangraped as she tries to deal with the world with a smile. To make matters worse, one of the perpetrators is the chief minister's son.

Shroff (Anurag Arora), the investigating officer, buckles under pressure and tries to sweep the case under the rug. He underestimates Vidya's rage, who is now out for vengeance.
