An Indian television sitcom called Lapataganj ran on SAB TV from October 2009 till August 15, 2014. The series was based on the same-titled book by Sharad Joshi. Dharam Verma was the show's director, and Ashwini Dheer was in charge of production. Rohitash Gaud, Vineet Kumar, Preeti Amin, Sucheta Khanna, and Shubhangi Gokhale played the key characters in Lapatagnj.

The story is based in a made-up tiny town called Lapataganj and was influenced by the Hindi satirist Sharad Joshi. With biting satire, his diverse collection of work has brought to light the harsh realities of Indian culture. While entertaining viewers, these stories also help them understand the problems people encounter on a daily basis.

Lapataganj is a township in a region of India that the system has long since forgotten. The residents of the town are cheerful of all, despite the daily battle for basic amenities. The show embodies the common man's will to live a happy life in spite of all obstacles.
