In 2017, Star Plus aired the suspenseful psychological thriller TV show Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai from India. It featured Surbhi Jyoti, Shoaib Ibrahim, Sharad Kelkar, Shaleen Malhotra, Rajsingh Verma, Rushad Rana, and Varun Buddhadev and was sponsored by Sphere Origins. The Return on Quix, a television series, was shown in June 2021. Blind Rishabh resides with his Rajput family. Geetanjali, his sister, develops feelings for Abhimanyu, a military commander. Geetanjali defies Rishabh and marries Abhimanyu despite his refusal to join this alliance. Though first horrified, he eventually accepts Abhimanyu's death in a car accident.

After six years, Geetanjali waits for his return because Abhimanyu's body was never discovered. Army officer Rajveer Malhotra, an acquaintance from their youth, says the Indian Army hasn't discovered any signs of Abhimanyu's survival, hence he is dead. Geetanjali meets Priyam, who is 6 years old. Priyam is put to the test to determine his identity after claiming to be Abhimanyu's reincarnation, but shockingly succeeds. In exchange for a sizable payment to Geetanjali, his selfish parents agree to let Rishabh adopt him.

Unknown Ragini claims to be Geetanjali's relative. Abhimanyu turns revealed to be alive, and Geetanjali is able to capture him at last. He claims to have betrayed her in order to get revenge on her family.

Ratna describes how Rajesh Shekhari, the father of Geetanjali, married Ratna after his father Bhavani had raped her while she was carrying his kid. In reality, Kavya is Ratna and Bhavani's child. The major reality now is that Aditya, not Abhimanyu, is seeking retribution from his own family because Bhavani wanted to kill him in the past when it was predicted that Aditya would kill him. But despite being abandoned by Bhavani, Aditya was saved and reared by another man, who ingrained the abandonment story in his spirit.

Aditya's scheme to take Abhimanyu's place since he blames him for the latter's abandonment. Abhimanyu will be rescued by Geetanjali. Both families have a history of hostility, and Rishabh describes how he loved Ragini—who was carrying his child—but had to betray her in order for his family to think he had been playing with her. Varun, their actual kid, is revealed to be Priyam. In order to get back at Bhavani, who had slain Ragini after she gave birth to Varun, he shifted the guilt to Rishabh.

Aditya and a living Abhimanyu fight close to a prison and fall off a precipice. Aditya shoots Geetanjali dead after he kills Bhavani and tries to kill her too, but Rishabh saves her and perishes in the process. Rajveer says goodbye and that he has been transferred. Once again together, Geetanjali and Abhimanyu begin their happily ever after.
