When Champaklal Desai's son Mansukh joins him, his flourishing company as a matchmaker and wedding planner in Mumbai begins to suffer. Mansukh is expelled from the mansion by Champak after accidentally ruining numerous marriages. Mansukh, who is despondent, visits his buddy Jeevanlal Praanlal D'Costa, who counsels him to give up drinking, but Mansukh is unreceptive.
Indu, who purposefully terrifies her grooms away by taking them on lengthy, dangerous drives, was behind the wheel of the vehicle that struck the tree. Tatya Tukaram Tendulkar, an underworld don, who wishes to arrange for Indu's marriage to a respectable family, turns out to be Indu's sibling. Following the event, Mansukh and Jeevanlal are kidnapped by TT's thugs. When TT finds out that Mansukh is a matchmaker, he gives him the job of finding Indu a suitable groom in exchange for letting Mansukh survive. Jeevanlal is certain that they will both pass away, but Mansukh insists that he knows the ideal man for her.
This groom is none other than Bahattar Singh, also known as Khiladi 786, a policeman from the Punjabi town of Taasi who never permits thugs to escape. His father Sattar Singh, younger brother Ikhattar Singh, and their wives make up his family. Tehattar, the brother of Bahattar, was recorded as having been abducted as a youngster. Finding a spouse has proven to be difficult for even Bahattar. Mansukh is unaware of the fact that Bahattar and his family only act as police officers while donning false uniforms. In order to convince them that TT is the assistant commissioner of police when Mansukh arrives at their house with an alliance for Bahattar, Bahattar and his family are compelled to continue acting as police officers.
When they arrive in Mumbai, two families living in the same home pose as police officers. Bahattar pursues Indu relentlessly, but she already has a boyfriend named Azad Reddy and won't be won over. Azad is incarcerated, and each time he is released, he commits an idiotic deed that gets him sent back to prison. After learning about Azad, Bahattar assists Indu in releasing him from custody. Because of this deed, Indu comes to appreciate Bahattar as a person and grows fond of him.
Indu and Bahattar are saying their goodbyes to one another after reconciling Azad and Indu when they discover that the other's family is not a police family. Azad tries to smack Indu, talk angrily to her, and interjects, but Bahattar stops him, slaps him, and pushes him away. Indu grabs Bahattar's hand as they make their way home after realising that he would make a better spouse.
Now that Mansukh has discovered the truth about the families, Indu and Bahattar instruct him to carry on the act and not reveal the information to either family. Sadly, they find out the truth on the wedding day. Immediately, Indu is kidnapped by Azad and his men. Bahattar and TT engage them in combat and save Indu. Bahttar is the ideal partner for her, and TT approves of their union. Tehattar Singh, who is now a legitimate Mumbai police officer, shows in to add to the joy, bringing the family back together.
