Kantara Overview

Action/thriller movie Kantara was written and directed by Rishab Shetty and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films. Shetty plays a Kambala champion who is at odds with Murali, an honourable forest officer, in the movie (played by Kishore).

Principal photography started in August 2021 and was shot in Keradi, a coastal town in Karnataka. Arvind S. Kashyap handled the film's cinematography, B. Ajaneesh Loknath composed the score, and action director Vikram More choreographed the fight scenes. Dharani Gange Putra, a rookie, was in charge of the production design.

Kantara Plot

A magnificent kingdom, a loving wife, and a child belonged to a king who lived in 1847, yet he struggled to find serenity. He embarks on a quest to find true happiness and stumbles onto a stone in a forest that is home to Panjurli Daiva, a god who guards the nearby peasants. In exchange for taking the stone, he gives the locals a sizable portion of his land. The fierce Guliga Daiva, Panjurli's companion, will be furious if the monarch's family and successors go back on their promise to not recover the country, Panjurli warns the king. What happens next is an amazing flavour of twist and turns.
