A 2013 Hindi romantic comedy film titled Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story was produced by Kumar S. Taurani and directed by Vinnil Markan. Vivek Oberoi and Neha Sharma play the two main characters in the movie. The movie premiered on February 15, 2013. The movie is an adaptation of the South Korean film My Gangster Lover from 2010, which was later dubbed in Tamil as Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum in 2016. It has an IMDb rating of 5.3 out of 10.

The movie opens with a prologue on Mumbai and how the city changes people's lives. Simran Desai, an engineering graduate, moves to Mumbai to start a career in the IT industry with her father as her sole supporter. She quickly accepts a position at an IT firm and settles down. Things become difficult as the company she works for abruptly shuts down five months later; she experiences financial difficulty and is compelled to relocate to a low-cost housing community while looking for new employment.

Jayantabhai, also known as Abhimanyu, is her neighbour. Simran learns that Althaf Bhai's don, Jayanta Bhai, is a gangster who employs Jayanta Bhai. His sole ambition in life is to open up his own bar. He had recently served a five-year prison sentence for accepting responsibility for a crime he did not commit under the don's orders. When Jayanta committed the act, the don's gang promised to improve his standing after his release; nevertheless, the promise was broken.

Simran initially finds Jayanta's roguish conduct repulsive, but as he transports her to a hospital on his back when she overdoses on vitamin supplements and collapses in her room, she gradually begins to warm up to him. She starts to fall in love with Jayanta as she realises that despite his gangster past, he has a warm, loving, and amusing attitude. Their bond develops to the point where they eventually have an intimate encounter while intoxicated.

Simran, under pressure from her father, introduces Jayanta, a manager at an IT company, as her lover. When her father sees Jayanta beating up a man at a party and realises that he is a rowdy, he decides against fixing their marriage. Simran is forbidden from going back to Mumbai, and he even forbids her from going to a crucial job interview. While everything is going on, Jayanta incites a gang conflict by assaulting the goons of Alex Pandian, a rival gangster and ex-policeman. Jayanta should kill Alex, Althaf Bhai decides. After making sure Simran shows up for her interview, Jayanta goes forward with the murder of Alex. Despite being stabbed with rebar and allowed to bleed to death, Jayanta is able to kill Alex.

After two years, Simran has relocated out of the residential complex and has been promoted to director at her company. Since she last saw Jayanta after her interview, she is continuously thinking about him. Knowing that the only person who will be happier than she is when she realises her dreams is Jayanta, Simran longs to share her new life with him. She soon discovers Jayanta, who had fled his wild past after surviving his attempted murder, working at a petrol bunk. As they reunite and embrace, they begin a new life together.
