A drama TV show on Sahara is called Firangi Bahu. One is a tale of a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law. In the serial, Dutch actress Sippora Zoutewelle portrays the daughter-in-law, and Indira Krishna plays the mother-in-law. The story of the Desai family and their firangi bahu Camili is shown in this show. The plot follows the couple from their romantic undergraduate days in London to the not-so-ideal reality of a multigenerational household in India, The Desai's, featuring important societal concerns like alcoholism, cultural discrimination, abortion, and modern Indian family values.  It stars Rohit Bharadwaj, Indira Krishnan, Pranoti Pradhan, Sippora Zoutewelle, and Deepmala Parmar in key roles.

Fundamental shifts in Hindustani culture, such as the rejection of family-arranged weddings and contemporary romantic notions that encourage love matches, demonstrate how cultural beliefs on family satisfaction have been realistically adapted in a more international India. The pair attempts and ultimately fails to win the true approval of the family without causing ingrained prejudice, personal hurt, or societal conflict, which causes tension between traditional and modern family ideals to exist inside the family.

When Camili's younger sister-in-law seeks for help only to turn her own tawdry karma into venomous family slander directed against the firangi bahu, corruption and dishonesty play on highly charged cultural differences.

When a traditional paternal Auntie pays a visit, other members of the Desai family start to plot against Camili in a dramatic display of black magick, familial cultural pressure, and cowardice. The Desai elder Auntie hatches a plan to end the marriage, which adds a thrilling new chapter to this mother-in-law and daughter-in-law drama.

The senior Auntie unjustly exposes Camili as a liar, humiliates her, and charges her with eating meat, having a gambling addiction, concealing an abortion, and planning a divorce. The increasing family strife portends disaster for the innocent and unknowing Camili. The family must all face their own truths or continue to be plagued by Camili's relentless memory once the evil curse strikes and she perishes in a bus explosion. BUT THEN...it is revealed that the Desai elder Auntie is ready to re-marry Pranay to the daughter of a family friend, who comes to stay with the Desai family, as the family grieves the loss of Camili. When a bus bombing survivor slowly starts to remember that she is the Friangi bahu, Camili, a fresh realisation that has the power to completely transform everything happens just as sadness fades from the home.
